Technical Information and Sample Formulation
HFFR compounds mainly consist of EVA, ATH (Aluminum Trihydroxide), and PE (Polyethylene). A common formulation example:
23% EVA + 2% Additive + 70% ATH
Processing temperatures should not exceed 160 °C in this formulation to prevent water (H₂O) release from ATH, which disrupts material flow.
Alternatively, Mg(OH)₂ (Magnesium Hydroxide) can be used, allowing higher processing temperatures; however, due to higher cost, it is less preferred by Turkish cable manufacturers.
Expanded Product Development Opportunities
Monomex extrusion systems are also suitable for producing elastomer-based, crosslinkable PE (XLPE) compounds. With these systems, customized high-performance products can be developed for low, medium, and high voltage cables.
