With the innovative production technique, it is aimed to recycle plastic waste into products at their original performance values. The second goal is to obtain plastic with superior properties by upcycling with additives.

For this purpose, plastic wastes with low bulk density that are difficult to recycle will first be filtered in molten state in a single screw extruder, and then fed into a twin screw extruder in molten state to obtain high quality products at low costs.

With this method, the number of times the product can be recycled will at least double as the plastic will not be subjected to thermal stress over and over again. If desired, additional features such as mechanical strength, rupture and UV resistance will be added.

During the traditional recycling process, the structure of plastics is deteriorated as a result of heat treatments or they are turned into a product of second quality or with lower properties. Monomex innovative production technique and recycling system in a single process set new standards in further processes. Thermoplastics can be perfectly recycled in this energy-saving process that guarantees the highest quality.

The recovery of production residues, energy saving obligations, and the need to obtain technical products at competitive prices are the biggest advantages that support Monomex's new technology to enter the market. For example, in order to eliminate the negative effects of 5-10% PET materials in wastes such as OPP packages, laminated PP-based automotive textile products and diapers, Monomex has developed a system where reactive compatibilizers such as EPDM, elastomer etc. are added to the formulation and mechanical recycling can be done in one go.  With this system, filler materials such as calcite and talc can be processed into plastomer-based materials with the same formulation to obtain the final product in one go.

The possibility of recycling different types of plastic materials using co-rotating extruders, a high-performance technology, is a great opportunity for “industry newbies” who want to upgrade existing machines currently involved in plastic recycling, upgrade their existing systems and take advantage of the well-promoted market potential that can be seen in many countries.
